Acara Solution is seeking an Android OS (Android Open-Source Project) Embedded Software Engineer for our client, located in Dedham, MA.

  • As an Embedded Software Engineer working with custom Hardware built in-house for our Cyber group, you'll be a member of a cross-functional team responsible for developing mission-critical, NSA-certified Cybersecurity devices in a rapidly growing product line.
  • You'll be working at the cutting edge of Cybersecurity and high-speed data.
  • Real-Time multi-threaded Embedded software, on Linux and Android OSes.
  • Model-based development, Rhapsody.
  • Android Open-Source Project (AOSP)-based development (Android Operating System development).
  • Android System Application development.
  • Long development lifecycles and product lifespans require regular maintenance and technology refreshes.
  • ARM virtualization extensions, a Hypervisor.
  • Passion for designing complicated systems and working on problems of diverse scope.
  • Shows initiative on assignments and executes projects with little guidance, and can provide technical direction and leadership.
Job Requirements
Required Skills / Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Software Engineering or Science or Engineering or Technology or Mathematics with 5 years of experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience with object-oriented design and programming, UML, C++, and Java.
Preferred Skills / Qualifications:
  • Master's Degree with 3 years of experience.
  • Agile experience.
  • Hypervisor Technology.
  • Linux.
  • Rhapsody.
  • UML.
  • Device drivers.
  • Ninja/SOONG Build Systems.
  • Ability to define the scope, schedule, and expectations for the work you execute.
  • Ability to turn CONOPS, Specifications, or Requirements into software design, code, test plans, and then execute testing/debugging.
  • Proficiency with software tools supporting Integrated Development Environments (IDEs), version control, defect tracking, and scripting.
