We are seeking a motivated Physical Security Lead to manage the day-to-day physical security operations of classified open storage areas within an MFO. The position will assist in maintaining compliance with the National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM) under the direction of senior security personnel. The role demands a proactive and accountable security leader who thrives in a fast-paced, mission-critical, and compliance-focused setting, managing a team of security professionals in delivering a gold-standard program.


Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and supervise a team of physical security specialists overseeing OSAs, safes, access control, and document control operations across multiple facilities.
  • Manage and enforce physical security procedures in alignment with NISPOM, DCSA, Traditional Security STIGs, and internal policies.
  • Conduct regular security checks, inspections, and audits of OSAs and storage containers.
  • Ensure the proper receipt, accountability, storage, transmission, and destruction of classified material.
  • Maintain operational readiness for DCSA inspections and CORAs and address corrective actions as required.
  • Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for physical security and document control.
  • Coordinate with Facilities, IT, and Security leadership on access controls, alarms, locks, and other protective measures.
  • Track, manage, and report incidents, deficiencies, and status updates to security leadership.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for OSA-related issues at headquarters and off-site facilities.
  • Manage the implementation and maintenance of physical security measures for all open storage areas and offsites in accordance with NISPOM and STIG guidelines.
  • Oversee access control, badge systems, visitor management, guard response, and IDS.
  • Conduct site risk assessments and implement tailored physical security controls
  • Support physical security incident response and investigation.
  • Manage physical security systems and vendors, ensuring responsiveness and audit ready.
  • Manage guard force operations and alarm response compliance
  • Develop and maintain emergency response teams across sites.
  • Standardize protocols across all sites.
  • Create and maintain all Fixed Facility Checklists (FFCs), open storage plans, and related documentation.
  • Conduct regular walk-throughs and checks of classified areas to verify adherence to access control and physical security standards.
  • Assist in maintaining intrusion detection systems (IDS) monitoring logs, access rosters, and visitor control procedures.
  • Help track and organize documentation related to DCSA inspections and self-assessments.
  • Provide logistical and administrative support for security briefings, trainings, and inspections.
  • Oversee End of the Day Security Watch program.
  • Train, mentor, and support team members to ensure compliance and professional growth.

Qualifications

  • U.S. Citizen with an active DoD Top Secret clearance.
  • 7+ years of experience in a security and secure NISPOM facilities within a cleared contractor environment.
  • NISPOM and STIG physical requirements and classified material handling procedures.
  • Experience with CCRI and CORA assessments.
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and ability to follow established procedures.
  • Effective leadership, communication, and teamwork skills.
  • Proficiency with SIMS, CCURE, and other security related systems.
  • This is a fully onsite role with no remote or hybrid options at this time. Must be willing to work onsite in Alexandria, VA, Monday through Friday (5 days a week).
