Responsibilities

Sabre Systems is currently recruiting for a Senior MBSE Systems Architect for support to the Strike Planning and Execution Systems Program Office (PMA-281) at Patuxent River Naval Air Station in Lexington Park, MD. The candidate will provide Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) support for the Collaborative Mission Planning Continuum (CMPC) Integrated Product Team. CMPC is supporting the next generation of naval aircraft mission planning system. PMA-281 is responsible for the acquisition and life cycle management of a range of mission planning, control systems and execution tools that are developed and integrated in partnership with other NAVAIR program offices, other Services, and foreign nation customers/partners. Location is hybrid/on-site as program needs require.

Role Summary:

Provide senior-level Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) leadership supporting PMA-281 modernization and sustainment of strike planning, mission planning, control, and execution toolsets. The role drives architecture rigor, model governance, and traceability from mission outcomes to capabilities, requirements, interfaces, and verification while enabling cross-stakeholder alignment across NAVAIR, OPNAV sponsors, and operational communities.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Serve as senior architect/MBSE lead for mission architecture development supporting planning/execution workflows, including decomposition from mission outcomes to operational activities, functions, and system behaviors.
  • Apply White-Box/Black-Box (WBBB) approaches and integrated WBBB modeling to create coherent operational, functional, and logical models that support acquisition decisions and technical trade studies.
  • Implement and enforce Requirements, Interfaces, Behavior, Structure - Parametric (RIBS-P)-aligned modeling patterns to ensure consistent structure, reusable viewpoints, and stakeholder-ready products (briefings, views, and decision support artifacts).
  • Develop and maintain enterprise architecture packages and viewpoints using Cameo Enterprise Architect (CEA); coordinate with government leads on model organization, configuration, and publish/export conventions.
  • Lead/mentor engineers in SysML modeling techniques, model quality checks, and model-to-artifact traceability (requirements, interfaces, verification methods).
  • Facilitate architecture working groups, interface discussions, and technical interchange meetings; translate sponsor intent into model-backed engineering direction.
  • Support program deliverables that depend on architecture integrity (e.g., capability alignment, risk reduction, integration planning, and verification readiness).

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Must have a have a master's degree in a technical or scientific field from an accredited college or university or a bachelor's degree in a technical or scientific field from an accredited college or university and an additional four (4) years of recent and relevant experience.
  • 10+ years of systems engineering / MBSE experience on DoD mission systems or equivalent complex programs
  • Demonstrated proficiency with White-Box / Black-Box modeling and WBBB implementation
  • Demonstrated proficiency applying RIBS-P in real programs (model structure, patterns, viewpoints, reuse)
  • Hands-on experience using Cameo Enterprise Architect (CEA) for architecture development and management
  • Demonstrated experienced with Cameo Systems Modeler and Teamwork Cloud is required.
  • Preferred familiarity with Agile processes and Jira.
  • Strong software background is highly desired.
  • Must have an active DoD Secret Clearance.
  • Must be a US Citizen

Compensation Statement

At Sabre Systems, LLC, compensation is based on factors such as location, qualifications, experience, and contract-specific requirements; however, final compensation will be determined by individual qualifications and applicable contract terms. The general salary range for this position is as follows: $128,300.00 - $141,700.00
