What to Expect

Tesla's Gulf Coast Lithium Refinery is seeking a highly motivated, detail-oriented Program Manager responsible for designing, implementing, maintaining, and continuously improving refinery programs that support safe, compliant, and efficient operations. A key focus of this role is the development and administration of compliance programs like the Management of Change (MOC) Program, ensuring that all changes to processes, equipment, materials, technology, and procedures are properly evaluated, authorized, documented, and communicated in compliance with regulatory and corporate standards.This is a rare opportunity to play a critical role in scaling a novel chemical manufacturing process that supports Tesla's mission to accelerate the world's transition to sustainable energy.


What You'll Do
  • Develop, implement, and maintain refinery operational and compliance programs aligned with corporate policies and regulatory requirements
  • Establish program frameworks, procedures, workflows, and documentation standards
  • Monitor program effectiveness and drive continuous improvement initiatives by preparing reports, metrics, and dashboards on program performance
  • Coordinate program rollouts, updates, and training across refinery departments
  • Support audits, inspections, and regulatory reviews related to these programs and maintain accurate records
  • Support hazard analyses (HAZOP, PHA, JSA) related to process and operational changes
  • Participate in incident investigations and ensure lessons learned are incorporated into programs

What You'll Bring
  • 3+ years of experience in refinery, petrochemical, or chemical plant operations, engineering, or compliance roles with a Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Chemical, Mechanical, Industrial), Safety, or a related technical field
  • Or 5+ years of experience in refinery, petrochemical, or chemical plant operations roles
  • Demonstrated experience developing and managing formal programs in an industrial environment
  • Strong understanding of refinery process units, operating procedures, production workflows, and process safety principles (including MOC and operating discipline)
  • Excellent documentation, analytical, and organizational skills
  • Strong cross-functional communication skills, ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment, and adaptability to learn new technologies and work extended hours as needed and experience with OSHA PSM, API, NFPA, or equivalent international standards
  • Command of the English language, both written and verbal
