Solve What Matters Most: Quality Engineer, Design & Field Investigations

A global medical technology innovator is seeking an experienced Quality Engineer to lead high-visibility investigations impacting active implantable and diagnostic products. This role is designed for a technically curious, solutions-driven professional who thrives in complex problem-solving, cross-functional leadership, and patient-focused quality engineering. You'll work at the intersection of design quality, field performance, and corrective action-where your decisions directly support product safety and patient outcomes.

Hours & Pay



  • Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM
  • Work Environment: On-site
  • Pay Rate: $64.00 per hour



What You'll Do Each Day



  • Lead cross-functional teams through complex product performance investigations related to design-related issues
  • Drive Nonconforming Events and Preventions (NCEPs), Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPAs), and Field Action recommendations when required
  • Apply structured problem-solving tools such as DMAIC, Root Cause Analysis, 5 Whys, Cause & Effect Diagrams, and Is/Is Not analysis
  • Develop, maintain, and review investigation documentation in accordance with Good Documentation Practices
  • Create, review, and approve Quality System records for CAPAs and NCEPs
  • Present investigation findings and progress updates to stakeholders, including senior leadership
  • Mentor engineers and cross-functional teams on investigation strategy and execution
  • Support design quality initiatives related to risk management, new product development, and product sustainment
  • Champion continuous improvement within Design Assurance and Quality organizations
  • Maintain strict compliance with Quality System requirements, company policies, and regulatory standards
  • Demonstrate a strong commitment to patient safety and product quality in all activities



What We're Looking For



  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related discipline
  • 4+ years of relevant experience in quality or engineering roles
  • Medical device industry experience required
  • Proven experience with root cause analysis, CAPAs, nonconforming products, and field investigations
  • Strong knowledge of Quality System Regulations, Medical Device Regulation, and ISO 13485
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Ability to collaborate, influence, and lead across cross-functional and multi-site teams
  • Strong technical writing, communication, and presentation skills


Preferred Qualifications



  • Experience with active implantable medical technologies
  • Data analysis and statistical tools experience such as MINITAB or Weibull++
  • Project management experience leading cross-functional initiatives
  • Ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously
  • Comfort presenting to large groups, including senior and executive leadership
  • Demonstrated adaptability, business acumen, and continuous improvement mindset
