Responsibilities:

This position focuses on managing the quality and technical copywriting process, organizing, writing and editing copy and the development and delivery of communications to providers contracted with Health Plan. Will serve as a key member of the Provider Communication Development & Distribution Team to deliver provider communications that adhere to Presbyterian's provider motif, style, and literacy guidelines, as well as compliance and regulatory standards. Requires expert writing, editing, proofreading and organizational skills. Knowledge of and background in graphic and user-centered design principles preferred. Will be accountable for the quality of all provider communication outputs. Must be able to understand both business and provider views in order to translate necessary information logically so that it meets the needs of both. Explores innovation in the development of copy and implements best practice methods. Collaborates with key internal departments and other writers/designers to align branding and ensure content quality and effectiveness of all provider communications. Will contribute ideas for future provider communication needs, projects and process improvements.

Some key responsibilities include:

  • Manages the quality and technical review and copywriting process, organizing, editing copy and the development and delivery of communications to contracted providers of Health Plan.

  • Writes and edits copy that meets the Presbyterian provider motif, literacy guidelines, and compliance and regulatory standards for Medicare, Medicaid and Commercial lines of business.

  • Designs and maintains both print and digital materials for a wide range or provider groups and internal stakeholders.

  • Accountable for the quality of all provider communication outputs, (e.g., directories, newsletters, letters, flyers, etc.). Must be able to understand both business and provider views in order to translate necessary information logically so that it meets the needs of both.

  • Amends, revises or redevelops copy in response to feedback as necessary.

  • Accountable for the quality of outputs. Utilizes processes for proofreading and checking of spelling and grammar.

  • Utilizes current-trends design principles for creating materials for a multifaceted and diverse user base.

  • Adept at managing several copywriting and design projects at once. Is able to produce outputs in very short time periods, to tight deadlines when required.

  • Supports users throughout the workflow process and regularly communicates with users and leadership regarding process changes and reminders.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Journalism, Communications, or Business and 3 years of application-specific experience.

  • 6 years of additional experience can be substituted in lieu of a degree.

  • Highly skilled in writing, editing, proofreading, and oral communications.

  • Adept with computer software and tools.
