With 204-beds, it is the third largest of Duke Healthas four hospitals and offers a comprehensive array of services, including cancer, cardiovascular, neuroscience, advanced gastrointestinal, and wound healing care. Job Location Duke Raleigh Hospital Job Summary The Neurosurgery APP works collaboratively within a multidisciplinary health care team. He or she will be expected to perform various tasks on behalf of the neurosurgery service. The neurosurgery APP performs physical exams, collects and documents data, conducts diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, orders and schedules laboratory studies and professional consultations, prescribes appropriate interventions and medications, and provides direct patient care services. He or she will also educate patients and their families in order to increase their satisfaction with their hospitalization. Job Duties and Responsibilities
Job Eligibility Requirements Education PA: Graduate of an ARC accredited Physician Assistant Program, Master's or Doctoral Degree NP: Graduate of an accredited MSN or DNP Nurse Practitioner Program for adults
Certification PA: PA-C NP: Adult providers, ACNP/AGACNP (acute care) preferred, but will consider FNP or AGNP in combination with relevant experience License PA: Current unrestricted medical license issued by NCMB with authorization to practice as PA NP: Current unrestricted RN License issued by or recognized by NCBON with authorization to practice as NP Both: Federal and State DEA prescriptive authorization Experience Strongly prefer candidate with 1+ year Neurosurgery APP experience Physical and mental requirements:
Job Hours 3 shifts per Monday- Friday week. Each shift is 12 hours.
