Summary:

Scheduler is responsible for coordinating and managing the interpreter services to ensure timely, accurate, and efficient language support across the organization. This role schedules, assigns, and confirms interpreters for in-person, video, and telephonic encounters while balancing operational needs, interpreter availability, and compliance requirements. The scheduler serves as a key point of contact for clinical staff, vendors, and interpreters, ensuring coverage, resolving scheduling conflicts, and supporting documentation and reporting processes. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize in a fast-paced healthcare environment are essential to support equitable access to care for Deaf and patients with limited English proficiency.

Responsibilities:

*Provide reception duties in the Scheduling office. Answer phone calls timely and respond according to need. Triage phone calls to appropriate scheduler or staff member.
*Schedule procedures and patient visits using the computerized scheduling system, in accordance with the scheduling rules and guidelines written by the Scheduling Policy Committee.
*Maintain the clinical privilege notebook in collaboration with the office of Medical Staff Affairs.
*Monitor, validate, and record all incoming scheduling faxes on a daily basis.
*Monitor and record daily tracking sheets.

Qualifications:

High school plus specialized, short-term training in Medical Terminology. Solid computers skills required with the ability to type 45 WPM
