Georgia-Pacific Containerboard is adding a Financial Analyst to the team! You will also create value by providing actionable analysis, forecasting and planning, as well as initiative tracking for our manufacturing operations leaders at our four world class facilities. Location / Team: This role is based at our Corporate HQ in Downtown Atlanta, GA. This is a predominately in-office position with some hybrid days flexibility. We are seeking local applicants, or internal candidates that are willing to relocate to the area, who will commute to the office.

The larger GP Financial Planning & Analysis teams and individuals provide support to 125+ operating locations across the US, as well as at our corporate HQ in Atlanta, GA

The Georgia-Pacific Containerboard business includes four world class facilities that make GP the largest supplier of containerboard to the independent box market. We offer a variety of grades of performance linerboard and corrugating medium, as well as white top linerboard products. Our containerboard is sustainably produced in the U.S. at one of our four strategically located mills. Our products are manufactured using recycled and virgin fiber, and our mills have chain of custody and fiber sourcing certifications from recognized third-party groups, including the Sustainable Forestry Initiative (SFI) and Forest Stewardship Council (FSC). What You Will Do

  • Lead the preparation and submission of accurate and timely financial results for GP Containerboard reporting to business leaders and corporate teams to support effective decision-making.
  • Develop and enhance tracking, forecasting and reporting tools to improve visibility into business valuations and financial performance.
  • Support long-term forecasting through data gathering and analysis.
  • Conduct ad hoc financial analysis leveraging data-driven insights to identify opportunities and optimization financial performance.
  • Advance analyst team capabilities by ensuring strong economic and critical thinking to drive better business outcomes.
  • Advance our Principle-Based Management culture by applying and reinforcing the company's core values and principles.
Who You Are (Basic Requirements)
  • Career experience in accounting, financial analysis, operations finance or related role(s) that demonstrate an understanding of core financial concepts
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills including the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and make data-driven recommendations
  • Collaboration/Contribution mindset: You seek to build working relationships and partner with a diverse set of stakeholders to close gaps and find solutions
  • Confident Communicator: You have verbal and written styles that enable effective sharing of financial performance to cross functional teams and non-financial stakeholders
  • Systems and Tools savvy: You can source and work with large volumes of data from multiple systems and use MS Excel and other tools to perform analysis and develop a point of view

What Will Put You Ahead

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related Business field of study
  • Previous roles with business partnering requirements
  • Advanced MS Excel capability (pivot tables and repotting, modeling, data manipulation/analysis and formula creation)
  • Experience with data analysis/visualization tools beyond Microsoft Excel (i.e., Power BI, Alteryx, Tableau, VBA, Hyperion, SQL, etc.)
  • Manufacturing industry and/or packaging experience a plus!
