Summary: Seeking a dynamic professional who will be a key part of the Company's Nederland Terminal Accounting Team. The Nederland Terminal Accounting Team is responsible for billing and ticketing functions for all Nederland assets as well as general business analysis, reporting and cost reimbursement analysis. The prospective employee will perform a combination of inventory and invoicing duties. Additionally, the Associate Analyst will participate in volume and revenue analysis in support of Operations and Commercial Management.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Review each ticket for accurate measurement, location, volume, and feasible laboratory results.
  • Ticket entry, corrections, and booking of all inventory records into the Synthesis Crude Inventory System.

  • Compare tank to tank transactions for volume discrepancies.
  • Review meter and barge receipts, calculate volumes when required, distribute back to Operations.

  • Research gain/loss variances by customer during the month end process.

  • Interface with Terminal Operators and Data Entry Admin to ensure proper data entry into the Synthesis System.

  • Review daily stock and pump order reports.
  • Review of all terminal oil movements transactions on a customer account level during the month.

  • Interaction with Measurement Group for ticket movement analysis.

  • Assist in compilation of monthly reports.
  • Compile tank rental report, tracking each tank by customer lease.

  • Rate verification of escalation to the Synthesis
  • Assist in annual audit process by compiling requested documentation and assisting in explanations where required.

  • Special projects as required.

Requirements: Education and/or Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: To perform this job successfully, an invidiual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements for this position are listed below.

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.

  • Advanced Excel skills; Synthesis experience a plus
  • Must be able to proactively identify financial issues and drive towards solutions
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Must be able to adapt well to rapidly changing priorities and responsibilities; ability to work well in a fast paced and growing environment
  • Hands on problem solver with a roll up your sleeves style approach
  • Strong work ethic and a positive can-do attitude

Required experience is commensurate with the selected job level:

  • The Associate Specialist/Analyst level requires a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience and 0-2 years of relevant job related experience
  • The Specialist/Analyst level requires a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience and 2-5 years of relevant job related experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Terminal Accounting experience preferred, but not required.

Working Conditions: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.

1. Usually, normal office working conditions.

2. Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time due to prolonged periods of sitting or standing.

3. Occasional overnight travel may be required.

4. Occasional visits to industrial/manufacturing settings which may include hazardous materials and chemicals, as well as extreme temperature conditions and loud machinery, and require appropriate personal protective equipment.
