Surgery Scheduler

Full Time - M-F 8:30am-5:00pm

Responsible and accountable for daily operation of Surgical Services office activities. Must accurately schedule all surgical procedures. Responsible for coordinating patient flow under the direction of the nurse.

Job Duties:

• Accurately schedules patients for procedures in electronic medical records.
• Answers phone, takes messages, and communicates with others in a professional manner.
• Identifies special equipment/staff needed for cases and documents on Surgical Schedule.
• Demonstrates ability to make decisions and problem solve independently and effectively (e.g. dealing with customer complaints).
• Maintains clerical supplies and forms for all intradepartmental services.

Requirements:

• High School Diploma/GED
• One year of experience in healthcare, surgical, and/or scheduling is required

Preferred Requirements:

• Working knowledge of medical terminology
