Summary We're looking for a Senior Project Engineer to provide senior-level technical leadership and oversight for commercial land development projects. In this role, you'll deliver high-quality, compliant design and construction documents that meet agency requirements and exceed client expectations. The Senior Project Engineer partners closely with Project Managers to guide project scope, schedule, budget, and quality while supporting teams through all phases of design and construction. Success in this role means combining strong technical expertise with clear communication, mentoring, and a commitment to design excellence.
- Work Location: On-site with flexible work arrangements
- Expected Compensation Range: $100,000 - $150,000 annually (Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications)

Responsibilities
- Serve as Engineer on select commercial land development projects, responsible for the accuracy, completeness, and compliance of design and construction documents
- Independently perform and oversee the preparation of preliminary and final plans in accordance with Sambatek, client, and local jurisdiction standards
- Prepare and/or review project reports, specifications, and technical documentation as required
- Coordinate with Project Managers to obtain and comply with agency plan checklist requirements and ensure timely delivery of all required submittals
- Collaborate with Project Managers to develop and review project scope, budgets, and schedules, working diligently to deliver projects within scope, budget, and schedule
- Communicate and coordinate project work with internal teams and other disciplines; provide technical guidance and design direction to Project Engineers and CAD Technicians
- Develop and complete project-specific quality control plans, identifying and communicating concerns or questions to the Project Manager
- Lead construction-phase communication and administration, including coordination with agencies and contractors, with support from the Project Manager
- Ensure project deliverables meet quality standards and are completed at key milestones
- Foster a collaborative project team environment that promotes communication, respect, and accountability
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field from an accredited program
- Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred
- 10+ years of experience in a civil design engineering role, preferably in commercial land development
- Advanced knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D
- Experience preparing, coordinating, and completing construction document packages
- Strong organizational and project management skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively at all levels of the organization
- Demonstrated problem-solving and critical-thinking skills
- Commitment to delivering high-quality work and supporting team success
Physical Demands and Work Environment
- Work is primarily performed in an office environment
- Ability to occasionally move equipment/objects weighing up to 10 pounds
