This position is hybrid and will be required to work onsite at our administrative offices and clinics around Madison, WI as needed.



The Director of Clinical Operations-RN (RN Director) is responsible for effective leadership and direction in the delivery of support services by the Clinical Operations Division staff who provide nursing and other health-related patient care. This position is essential for facilitating and sustaining process improvement that assures operational effectiveness, clinical standardization, fiscal responsibility, customer satisfaction and ongoing clinical excellence. The RN Director provides direction, guidance and supervision to the Clinic Managers-RN and must have excellent communication and organizational skills. This position supports a collaborative working relationship between patient care services staff and practitioners, fostering staff satisfaction and resulting in a high level of care and service provided to GHC-SCW members. Collaboration across the enterprise - including Patient Care Services, Clinical Learning, Infection Control, Project Management and other departments - is required to lead major projects and process improvement initiatives, and the RN Director remains ultimately accountable for outcomes, even when responsibilities are delegated. The incumbent receives direction and general supervision from the Chief Nursing Officer in support of GHC-SCW strategic goals.

Job Specific Minimum Qualifications



  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Nursing, Health Care Administration, Business or related field required. BSN preferred. Master's degree in Nursing or a relevant field is desired.
  • Five (5) to seven (7) years progressive leadership experience in clinical practice setting required. Experience in similar size/type of organization (managed care) preferred. Experience in nursing and healthcare related Shared Governance preferred.
  • Possession of a valid Wisconsin's driver's license. Ability to provide own transportation to various work locations, as required.
  • Certification or training in Continuous Improvement and/or Lean strategies.

    • Make decisions that continuously improve service to members (accessible, safe, efficient, and personalized).
