Position Summary
The position of Remotely Operated Surveyor in Survey Services exists for the purpose of carrying out survey and positioning tasks in the office-based remote-operating control center (OROC). This individual will support all remote survey operations on Oceaneering SPG projects, drilling rigs and other opportunity vessels, including setting up vessels with remotely operated equipment. This is a Morgan City, Louisiana land-based opportunity, which may include working at other global sites and a limited amount of offshore work.
Duties And Responsibilities
ESSENTIAL:
- Remotely monitor and assist offshore vessels carrying out survey tasks.
- Work at regular 12-hour rotations from the shore station in Morgan City, LA.
- Operate a PC-based navigation system to provide guidance and quality control to offshore vessels.
- Can relocate temporarily to an alternate site as an operational contingency.
- Communicate with offshore employees to carry out work and employ safe work procedures.
- Individuals are a leader in the areas of HSE and quality of performance.
- Train and adhere to OII and client company's specific safety and quality requirements.
- Exhibit a high degree of competency and participate in the Oceaneering Competency Management Program.
- Manage and carry out specific job tasks as requested by client or project manager.
- Report any unsafe condition or practices immediately to his/her supervisor.
- Responsible for the care and safety of company equipment.
- Installing survey equipment on ocean going vessels as required.
NON-ESSENTIAL :
- All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
REQUIRED:
- Two (2) Plus+ Years in an offshore Survey or Marine Construction related field.
- Must have or be able to obtain TWIC card (Transportation Worker Identification Credential).
- Must have basic computer skills.
DESIRED:
- Two-year technical degree or University degree.
- Understanding Geomatics and surveying best practices.
- Five (5) pluses+ years in offshore Survey or Marine Construction related field.
- Understanding of navigation, positioning and acoustic surveying.
- Exceptional communications skills, both written and verbal, Bilingual (Spanish, Portuguese)

WORKING CONDITIONS : This position is considered ONSHORE with some OFFSHORE work which is characterized as follows:
- Outdoors and indoors, day and night, as well as over/near water.

- Frequently the humidity is above 90%, noise is over 85db, and the light is intense/glare.
- Potential exposure to open fire/flames/sparks.
- Constant exposure to airborne dust, fumes and gases.
- Work surface is stable, height is elevated.
