Could you be the full-time remote Rail Compliance and Safety Specialist in the United States that we're looking for? (This role can be 100% remopte within the US)

Your future role

"Take on a new challenge and apply your regulatory compliance and safety expertise in a new cutting-edge field. You'll work alongside collaborative and detail-oriented teammates.
You'll ensure compliance with federal drug and alcohol testing requirements across North America, supporting Alstom's projects and driving safety excellence. Day-to-day, you'll work closely with teams across the business (Environment, Health & Safety, Product Line Safety, and Project Management), provide regulatory updates and training on compliance requirements, and audit projects to enhance environmental, health, and safety KPIs-and much more."

We'll look to you for:




  • Managing and providing support to regulated projects to remain compliant with regulations.,



  • Collaborating with Alstom projects to ensure compliance with Federal drug & alcohol testing requirements across North America.,



  • Providing regulatory updates and managing compliance for any changes in North American regulations, while advising the management team accordingly.,



  • Auditing and reviewing compliance policies, procedures, and guidelines, and providing recommendations for improvement.,



  • Providing support to product line safety initiatives and strategizing effective implementation of company processes across all projects.,



  • Auditing and supporting projects to improve environmental, health, and safety KPI's.,



  • Supporting projects and tenders by providing regulatory guidance, safety audits, and review of project deliverables, such as design specifications and project plans.,



  • Providing training to Alstom staff on drug and alcohol compliance requirements.,



  • Collaborating with stakeholders to ensure alignment with federal and state regulatory environments, including agencies such as the Federal Railroad Administration (FRA), Federal Transit Administration (FTA), Transport Canada, and other regional and local authorities.,



  • Traveling as needed (up to 50%) to support compliance and safety initiatives across North America."




All about you

  • Degree in transportation, engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience). ,



  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP) certification or equivalent communication skills. ,



  • Experience or understanding of North American railway regulations, including 49 CFR Parts 40, 219 (FRA), and 655 (FTA). ,



  • Knowledge of federal and state regulatory environments, particularly relating to the Federal Railroad Administration, Federal Transit Administration, and Transport Canada. ,



  • Familiarity with rail transportation operations, technology, and industry standards. ,



  • Strong communication and negotiation skills. ,



  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders. ,



  • Experience conducting audits and providing compliance recommendations. ,



  • Ability to strategize and implement safety initiatives effectively. ,



  • Willingness to travel as needed, up to 50%.
