Join our team and leverage your problem-solving skills to address the unique challenges associated with keeping a fleet of Robotaxis in operation. As a Software Integration Engineer, you will design and develop software solutions for the hardware and systems that enable our technicians and automation to efficiently repair and maintain our autonomous vehicles.

We are looking for a multitalented engineer eager to learn and take on a wide variety of engineering disciplines to create cohesive, integrated solutions. Whether you are an industry veteran or a "Gandalf-level" new graduate with a history of building complex systems, if you are a skilled problem-solver with a passion for software engineering, this is the opportunity for you.


What You'll Do
  • Create software solutions for equipment and systems supporting the maintenance of the Tesla Robotaxi, including integration with various automation systems, components, and vehicle platforms globally
  • Work directly with hardware to build and test your designs, collaborating closely with a team of expert service and engineering technicians
  • Partner with teams across the organization to identify integration needs and develop solutions that empower our technicians and customers
  • Apply expertise in software development and automation to inform design decisions, ensuring software meets the rigorous needs of our products
  • Develop and maintain detailed design documentation, including well-documented code, system diagrams, and specifications
  • Help evolve the Service Tooling team's capabilities to create systems and equipment that are increasingly advanced and integrated

What You'll Bring
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Mechatronics, or a related field, or equivalent experience
  • 3+ years of experience in software development, automation, or related fields or evidence of "outlier" capability, such as leadership in university engineering teams complex personal side projects, or high-impact internships
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python or C
  • Strong understanding of software development principles (design patterns, testing methodologies) and manufacturing processes (machining, welding, assembly)
  • Experience with automation tools and technologies, such as robotics and machine learning
  • A strong inclination for first-principles problem-solving and a willingness to work hands-on with hardware

    Expected Compensation
    $140,000 - $300,000/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits

    Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
