Job Description




As a Security Officer - Food Industry Entry Monitor in Middlesboro, KY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Food/Beverage, and more. Join Allied Universal as an Access Control Officer at a food and beverage production location, where you will monitor entry points, verify credentials, manage visitor and delivery logs, and support a smooth flow of people and vehicles. You will remain visible, conduct routine patrols of assigned areas, and communicate clearly with team members and site personnel to help reduce security-related incidents. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients, vendors, drivers, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Control access at entry points by verifying identification, issuing visitor credentials, and directing authorized personnel to appropriate locations.
  • Manage sign-in and sign-out processes for visitors and contractors, including confirming appointments, maintaining logs, and communicating access approvals as required.
  • Support access control for shipping and receiving areas by checking driver identification, validating delivery and pickup documentation, and coordinating entry with onsite contacts.
  • Conduct vehicle and/or property checks when required by site policy to help to deter unauthorized items and/or activity.
  • Monitor alarms, cameras, and access control systems, and report irregular activity according to site procedures.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including initiating notifications and documenting actions taken.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the location, production-adjacent areas, and perimeter, observing for unusual conditions and reporting hazards and/or maintenance concerns.
  • Complete detailed reports, access logs, and incident documentation using Allied Universal reporting procedures.
  • Communicate professionally with employees, visitors, and management to support order and compliance with site rules, including PPE and hygiene requirements when applicable.
  • Coordinate with local leadership and responding agencies during emergencies as directed by post orders, while maintaining controlled access to restricted areas.
  • Support workplace violence prevention and conflict de-escalation by using customer service skills, maintaining professional boundaries, and requesting assistance when needed.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
