Technical Services Specialist

General Job Description:   Reports to and receives assignments, instructions and direction from the Technical Services Manager and/or appointed designee. Responsibilities include answering phones and emails, communicating with customers to provide scientific support assistance, interact with customers regarding company products, processing, documenting and facilitating product replacement as necessary, troubleshoot software and procedural problems, assist with interpretation of results for a broad spectrum of electrophoresis, POC and coagulation assays. Perform phlebotomy for scheduled blood draws and on an as needed basis. Observes and follows all safety rules and procedures, including wearing required PPE.  Performs various other duties and activities as directed by the Technical Services Manager and/or appointed designee.  Must meet all elements of the Helena Standards Pertaining to All Jobs, Job Classification Standards – Job Requirements Matrix and General Job Requirements.

Experience: IT and LIS (laboratory information systems) experience and general high comfort level with computer systems, technology and equipment interfaces preferred.

Education, Training and Skills: MLT (ASCP) or MT preferred. Will consider BS in Chemistry or Biology with clinical/laboratory experience. Must be certified to perform phlebotomy in the State of Texas.
