Coordinates the work activities of the Environmental Staff in floor care and cleaning process for Perioperative Services. Oversees various cleaning routines of the Operating Rooms, scrub rooms and public areas, stocking of supplies, designated off-floor activities and any other specific tasks that may be added to ensure that the patient care needs and needs of the Department are met. Collaborates daily with the Charge Nurse and monthly with the Scheduling Nurse to ensure adequate coverage at all times. Conducts daily rounds and monthly inspections with a representative from Building Service management. Reviews the performance appraisal and disciplinary process applicable to the staff in conjunction with the Unit leaders.

Responsibilities
- 1. Coordinates the assignment of daily work activities, monitoring the workload and completion of assignments Via EPIC Rover
- 1.1 Assigns all ORAs to specific areas of responsibility on all shifts on a daily basis, ensuring sufficient coverage
- 2. Assists in the training and development of new staff and the on-going development of existing staff.
- 2.1 Participates in interview process for new hires
- 3. Inspects Operating Rooms and public areas for cleanliness and condition and determines the need for supplies, and improvements
- 3.1 Completes rounds daily to inspect cleanliness of Operating Rooms and public areas and assigns staff to remedy unsatisfactory findings
- 4. Communicates frequently with ORAs Charge Nurse for Peri-operative Nursing, Supervisor, and Manager
- 4.1 Communicates with Charge Nurse and for Prei-operative Nursing regarding ORA staffing shift assignments and absences
- 5. Additional Job Responsibility includes OR Associate I Responsibility In sections
- 5.1 Provides physical assistance to nursing staff performing patient care and transports patients throughout the hospital as needed.
- 6. OR Associate II Responsibility In sections
- 6.1 Performs Cleaning Technique.
- 7. OR Associate III Responsibility In sections
- 7.1 Basic Supply Management.
Qualifications
EDUCATION High school graduate or equivalent. Associate's Degree preferred. EXPERIENCE Knowledge of OR procedures. Minimum of 2 years experience working in an OR. Ability to handle multiple projects. Effective problem solving skills and ability to coordinate work activities of diverse team. PHYSICAL DEMAND On your feet for long periods of time
