The Chief of Staff supports the hospital's strategic change efforts by helping set the agenda for enterprise-wide initiatives and leading multi-disciplinary teams on individual efforts. The role functions as a central coordination point for complex initiatives that advance organizational priorities, ensuring alignment across departments and effective execution of key workstreams.
This position is responsible for engaging key stakeholders, developing and synthesizing critical analyses, supporting decision-making, and driving the implementation of approved changes. The Chief of Staff works closely with the Chief Operating Officer and other senior leaders on a day-to-day basis, operating with a high degree of autonomy under general direction and exercising influence across the organization to further the hospital's strategic goals.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES / DUTIES:

Essential Position Duties and Responsibilities

Serves as conductor for the change agenda, working with the COO to ensure appropriate oversight of critical work and to remove bottlenecks across the organization Develops and maintains a framework for tracking and reporting on KPIs and performance improvement activities across the system Lead teams and special projects on behalf of the COO on critical initiatives by setting goals, developing an action plan with key stakeholders, and by supervising consultants and analysts on analytical work, and delivering recommendations to the senior leadership team Manages multiple projects simultaneously while meeting key deadlines and deliverables Assist in crafting Board and Executive updates on performance, key initiatives, strategy and goals

Job Requirements

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:


  • B.A. or B.S. from four-year college or university
  • 5+ years of healthcare management/operations experience required
  • Prior management consulting experience leading teams at a top-tier consulting firm, with experience developing and launching complex programs for clients in a cross-functional environment

The Ideal Candidate:


  • Ability to tackle complex and unstructured problems by efficiently identifying the critical issues
  • Ability to develop, assess, and advance multiple solution pathways, including determining when issues require escalation to senior leadership for resolution or intervention.
  • Ability to manage multiple high priority projects simultaneously and prioritize to meet key deadlines without frequent formal check-in's
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders across hospital departments, as well as with external vendors and partners, to advance shared objectives.
  • Skill in written and verbal communication, including the ability to distill complex analyses and recommendations into clear, concise materials for executive-level audiences.
  • Ability to perform quantitative analysis and apply critical reasoning to break down complex problems, interpret data, and support recommendations with evidence
  • Knowledge of ethical standards and professional practices applicable to healthcare environments, including respect for patient confidentiality and organizational policies.

Compensation Range:

$163,500.00- $237,000.00

This range offers an estimate based on the minimum job qualifications. However, our approach to determining base pay is comprehensive, and a broad range of factors is considered when making an offer. This includes education, experience, skills, and certifications/licensures as they directly relate to position requirements; as well as business/organizational needs, internal equity, and market-competitiveness.
