The Department of Neurology at Columbia University is seeking a full-time neurohospitalist to join us at our affiliate site in NYP-Westchester, a 288-bed facility that is a New York State Department of Health-designated Primary Stroke Center located 30 minutes from Manhattan in Westchester County. Prior training in Vascular Neurology is preferred but not required. This opportunity offers favorable inpatient schedule and no ambulatory clinical responsibilities. Salary is competitive with the potential to earn additional compensation through paid on-call coverage. Candidates must have excellent clinical skills to provide high quality care for patients with a broad range of neurological diseases and collaborate in a multi-disciplinary environment. There is opportunity to engage in Quality Improvement initiatives.

This position is an outstanding opportunity to be part of the Department of Neurology at Columbia University, that is nationally renowned for scientific research, clinical care, and medical education, and houses one of the few programs in the country dedicated to Hospitalist Neurology. We are a growing multispecialty group that includes subspecialists in Neuro-Infectious Disease, Cerebrovascular Disease/Stroke, Movement Disorders, alongside a vibrant team of highly skilled APPs. Columbia Hospitalist Neurology lends expertise in providing cutting-edge, personalized emergency and inpatient neurological care across our network of hospitals: the New York Presbyterian Hospital-Columbia University Irving Medical Center, a leading tertiary care hospital in New York City; New York Presbyterian-Allen Hospital, a community hospital in the northern tip of Manhattan; and New York Presbyterian-Westchester Hospital, a community hospital in southern Westchester County, New York.

Successful applicants will have an academic appointment at the Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons, the medical school of Columbia University and be eligible for all the Columbia University benefits available for the faculty appointment.

This is a full-time clinical position, which may combine Neurohospitalist and specialty neurology practice, based on the specialty training and interests of the applicant for the position.

Qualifications



  • M.D. or M.D. /PhD.
  • Board Certified/Eligible in Neurology
  • Completion of New York Presbyterian Hospital credentialing before starting
  • New York State license
