OVERVIEW

In this role, you will be a key member of the tax leadership team, responsible for a wide range of activities ranging from tax accounting and forecasting, tax compliance review, as well as tax planning and controversy.

In this role you will have the opportunity to build or expand on many core finance career experiences. You will manage cross functional teams to implement tax planning strategies and manage engagements with external tax advisors. You will play a key role in reviewing provisions and tax compliance both of which are critical aspects of building our company financial plan and supporting internal control activities.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Tax accounting - review and/or prepare components of global corporate tax provision (including forecasting), confirm compliance with SOX protocols and research tax accounting treatment of various transactions and regulatory changes. Serve as project lead on engagement with service provider to execute all tax accounting requirements / deliverables
  • Corporate tax compliance - assist in the preparation and / or review of returns, estimated payments, and extensions on a timely basis and research tax laws to establish filing positions;
  • Tax planning - partner with tax planning to assist with the identification and implementation of tax savings strategies and initiatives, and drive process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy
  • Tax audits - Assist with the defense of filing positions in response to tax audits;
  • Communicate with finance, treasury, and legal teams at General Mills as well as external advisors regarding various tax issues
  • Actively engage in developing / mentoring tax staff

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • B.S. Accounting
  • 7 - 10 plus years of work experience in corporate tax
  • Strong project management skills including prioritization, clear communication, and execution against critical deadlines
  • Demonstrated ability to Influence stakeholders to act (especially via effective communication and presentation) Partnership for Impact)
  • Track record of exercising fiduciary responsibility, being accurate and detail oriented
  • Demonstrated ability to be proactive, respond quickly, smoothly adjust to changes
  • Able to establish processes, make process improvements, effectively organize own work

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Masters of Business Taxation degree
  • CPA license
  • Experience with CorpTax software / One Source Tax Provision software

ADDITIONAL CONSIDERATIONS

  • This role is remote eligible, with travel based on business needs.
  • International relocation or remote working arrangements outside of the U.S. will not be considered.

Salary Range



The salary range for this position is $126700.00 - $190100.00 / Annually. At General Mills we strive for each employee's pay at any point in their career to reflect their experiences performance and skills for their current role. The salary range for this role represents the numerous factors considered in the hiring decisions including, but not limited to, educations, skills, work experience, certifications, etc. As such, pay for the successful candidate(s) could fall anywhere within the stated range.
