Lead the long range planning for the structure and interaction of the enterprise's major types/sources of data, information needs, and business processes/strategy. Essential Functions About the Role - Part of a central architecture organization for largest portfolio at FedEx supporting all global operations. Architect key initiatives for the enterprise to drive business value.
- Responsible for providing options as part of architecture recommendation.
- Translate business needs into architectural solutions (current and target state) and defining solutions to problems through application of information technology
- Facilitate the establishment and implementation of standards / guidelines for architecture deliverables
- Develop/document the framework for integration/implementation for changes to architectural standards.
- Determine architecture solutions that meet performance, scalability, reliability and security needs
- Provide AI-driven architecture guidance, including identifying opportunities to incorporate machine learning, generative AI, automation, and responsible AI principles into enterprise solutions.
- Evaluate and architect solutions using AI/ML platforms, including model lifecycle management, vector databases, AI inference workloads, and integration patterns with enterprise systems.
- Provide technical leadership and architectural oversight to project teams, including AIassisted development practices and guardrails.
- Coach and mentor junior IT architects to grow capability, including emerging skills in AI and cloud-native architecture.

Technical Proficiencies
- Advanced experience with Enterprise Architecture tools such as LeanIX, Sparx EA, etc.
- Strong understanding of cloud-native architectures including microservices, serverless, event-driven patterns, and distributed systems.
- Deep knowledge of the Azure cloud platform, including services such as Azure Functions, App Service, AKS, Cosmos DB, Event Hubs, Azure OpenAI, Azure ML, and AI Search.
- Expertise in event processing technologies like Kafka, Flink, and real-time streaming architectures.
- Experience integrating AI/ML models, LLMs, vector search, RAG patterns, and automated inference pipelines into enterprise applications.
- Knowledge of AI governance, responsible AI practices, model monitoring, and secure AI development standards.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Golang, or Python-plus experience implementing AI/ML solutions using Python libraries or cloud AI toolkits.
- Familiarity with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) and CI/CD pipelines using GitHub, Git, or Azure DevOps.
- Experience with REST, GraphQL, messaging, and API-first architectures.
- Understanding of data modeling, database design, query optimization, and AI data readiness patterns.
- Experience with serverless design and low-code platforms.
- Strong knowledge of DevOps and MLOps processes.
- Experience with cloud security best practices across infrastructure, application, and AI workloads.

Minimum Education Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, information systems and/or equivalent formal training. Minimum Experience Five (5) years equivalent work experience in information technology or engineering environment. Domicile Information This position can be domiciled anywhere in the United States. The ability to work remotely within the United States may be available based on business need. Business requires collaboration during Eastern and Central time zone hours. Candidates who live within commutable distance of a FedEx corporate hub may be required to work a hybrid schedule.
