- Perform inspections on NPI builds.
- Performs visual inspection both unaided and using microscopes.
- Performs various dimensional inspection using specific dies or gauges, or dimensional inspection systems and micrometers.
- Ability to perform the tasks with minimal supervision such as but not limited to: Table Pull, Flushing, Bake, Leak Test, Spark Testing, Long Pull, Roll Cut and Documentation Reviews
- Follow established documentation for product manufacturing.
- Problem solves and troubleshoots manufacturing issues.
- Control non-conforming product in accordance with documented procedures and verify timely corrective and preventative action.
- Assist with distribution and control of process documentation and quality records.
- Assist with statistical methods of verifying and controlling process capability.
- Document all work performed on inspection reports and customer travelers/work orders.
- Prepare packages and paperwork for product/materials being shipped.
- Follow Occupational Safety and Health regulations, including laser safety practices.
- Serves as support resource for execution of IQ, OQ, TMV, and Process Characterizations.
- Serves as a training resource for NPI projects and new equipment.
- Performs other duties as required under the direction of the NPI Engineers and NPI Engineering Manager.
Environmental working conditions
- Employee must comply with all safety policies and safe work procedures established by the company. Job tasks may also involve:
- Using personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, goggles, gloves, and other equipment as established in company policies and safe work procedures.
- Working with cutting & machining fluids, solvents, lubricants and other hazardous chemicals using appropriate safety controls.
- Lifting up to 25 pounds.
- Frequent carrying, bending, standing, sitting, and repetitive motion.
Qualifications
- Good vision required.
- Introductory level position; Minimum 2 years experience as an assembly technician or machine operator in a manufacturing or production environment with some inspection responsibilities desired.
- Prior experience in medical device, aerospace, automotive, or regulated manufacturing environment preferred.
- Prior experience interpreting technical drawings & specifications required.
- Proficiency in the use of measuring and test equipment preferred.
- Demonstrate ability to check dimensions, surface relationships, finish material defects and mechanical strength of product following appropriate training required.
- Prior experience in the use of PC's and Microsoft Office software applications required.
