Tectonic is currently seeking a full-time Staff Accountant to become an integral part of our fast-paced Accounting Department in Forest Hills, NY.


This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional looking to gain hands-on corporate accounting experience while working alongside an experienced team!


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS


  • Coordinate monthly consultant and subcontractor accruals and gather supporting data;
  • Assist Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable transactions, including invoice entry, billing, and payment application;
  • Prepare and complete monthly bank reconciliations for multiple accounts;
  • Assist with general ledger entries and month-end close activities;
  • Maintain organized financial records and assist with financial audits;
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly and year-end close processes and financial statements;
  • Contribute to process improvements within the accounting team;
  • All related duties as assigned.


QUALIFICATIONS


  • Must possess a Bachelors in Accounting, Business, Finance, or similar;
  • 1-3 years of relevant experience, professional services or A/E/C industry experience a plus;
  • Knowledge of Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, bank reconciliations, and basic project accounting;
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; Deltek Vision/Vantagepoint preferred;
  • Experience with consultant accruals or subcontractor cost tracking a plus;
  • Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP);
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational, and communication skills;
  • Ability to work cross-functionally, apply strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and manage deadlines.


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS


In order to perform the essential functions of this position, the candidate must be able to constantly assume a stationary position, and must handle and/or feel documents, materials, and/or equipment to perform necessary tasks, sometimes repetitively. The candidate must be able to occasionally maneuver within the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc., and may exert up to 10 lbs. of force occasionally. Constantly, they must be able to receive and convey detailed or important information with others via the Corporate e-mail system, telephone system, and in person.

PAY RANGE


Tectonic's goal is to compensate employees fairly and equitably across all positions Companywide. Our advertised pay ranges are representative of our good faith effort to provide a reasonable anticipated salary range. The offered pay may be outside of the provided salary range based upon the selected candidate's work location, experience, education, certifications, and capabilities compared to the advertised position.


Pay Range: $50,000 - $65,000 per year
