Overview

Air Force Material Command's headquarters is located at Wright Patterson Air Force Base. The headquarters staff ensures the command successfully manages its research, development, acquisition, test and logistics services that keep Air Force weapon systems and warfighters ready for combat.

FTI is seeking an Electromagnetic Spectrum (EMS) Manager Support position will monitor telecommunication systems plans, policies, practices, procedures, requirements. They will act as the implementation program manager for managing the use of the EMS in the Command. The EMS Manager will support analyzing and processing EMS equipment certification in support AFMC acquisition Program Offices.

This person will support the concept, exploration, demonstration, and validation phases of End-to-End Spectrum Supportability (E2ESS) system.



Responsibilities

    The candidate must have the ability to analyze a variety of unusual telecommunications conditions and problems and answer questions associated with formulating projects and altering major telecommunications systems.
  • The candidate must have the ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing to identify, direct, or coordinate actions required in the performance of telecommunications equipment, systems, and services while evaluating new spectrum dependent devices, proposals and approaches.
  • The candidate will support analyzing and processing Radio Frequency (RF) assignments and allocations for spectrum dependent systems in support of operational requirements through Spectrum XXI database.
  • The candidate will support in interpreting policies and implementing rules and regulations regarding EMS use within the command in accordance the National Telecommunication and Information Administration (NTIA), Air Force, and AFMC policy, practices, and procedures
  • The candidate will support researching, identifying, trends and patterns to deviate from traditional methods, and to implement new or improved communication methods and procedures.
  • The candidate will support inspecting subordinate units or activities during MAJCOM IG visits. Helping to ensure Critical Compliance Items (CCI) are identified and complied with when accomplishing self-inspections and compliance inspections.
  • The candidate will support in providing quality control and updates to AFMC frequency records in the FRRS database.


Education/Qualifications

  • School trained Spectrum manager completed training at either the Inter-service Radio Frequency Management School (IRFMS) course or the Army Electromagnetic Spectrum Manager's Course.
  • 7 years of experience with a wide range of telecommunications theories, concepts, principles, and practices, procedures, policies, standards, operational requirements, operation and performance of telecommunications equipment.
  • Must have Secret Clearance
  • Career-level professional within field. Considered highly skilled and proficient in discipline. Conducts complex, important work under minimal supervision and with wide latitude for independent judgment.
