SPA's Operations Research and Cyber Analysis (ORCA) Group develops and employs simulation system products in support of operations, experimentation, and the acquisition analysis process. ORCA analysts apply Model-Based System Engineering principles and tools to identify and analyze trends in big data to solve real-world problems. ORCA software engineers and cyber security professionals develop, build, and deploy custom hardware and software solutions to meet our client's toughest challenges. SPA's ORCA Group has an immediate need for a Systems Engineer II at Port Hueneme, CA. #KS Responsibilities This position supports Naval Surface Warfare Center, Port Hueneme Division (NSWC PHD), which is part of the larger Naval Sea Systems Command. The NSWC PHD mission is to provide research, development, test and evaluation, and in-service engineering and logistics support to the U.S. Navy, other military services, and government agencies. Its focus areas include combat systems, unmanned systems, surface ship systems, and information systems. The general scope of work is to provide quality systems engineering and technical expertise to aggressively improve Warfighter readiness, as well as to improve and modernize the delivery, quality, and cost of products and services. It encompasses a wide range of activities and resources tailored to meet the specific needs of engineering projects. This involves providing expertise on technical matters related to engineering design, analysis, troubleshooting, and implementation. This engineering support will help to develop and maintain strong relationships with Program Sponsors andthe Navy Fleet, and to pursue new technologies to better support them. Duties of a systems engineer typically include managing the development cycle associated with producing resilient software, hardware, and web applications, including specification, design, coding, testing, and maintenance.
