JOB TYPEClassification: Exempt Supervises Positions: JOB SUMMARYThe Continuous Quality Improvement Analyst coordinates clinical quality and performance improvement activities across the UVA Health Northern VA Culpeper footprint. Responsibilities include: activating the Plan-Do-Check-Act cycle by developing data reports and analyzing data for trends; utilizing data to lead quality and performance improvement initiatives, interventions, and supporting teams focused on improving outcomes and aligning progress to achieve goals; supporting accreditation and regulatory compliance, supporting hospital goals, and other quality and performance improvement initiatives through compiling, monitoring, and reporting data; assisting in the development of process and reporting tools to identify patient safety issues and processes of care to improve outcomes; leading and facilitating quality and performance improvement teams, as assigned. QUALIFICATIONSEducation: Associate's Degree in healthcare related field required. Bachelor's Degree preferred. Training in quality, performance improvement, lean methods, and/or statistical analysis preferred. Experience: 5 years of experience in an acute care hospital setting required. Experience in quality, performance improvement, and applying lean methods preferred. Refer to the Life Support Training Policy for additional details. Licensure: Current RN, Respiratory Therapy, or other healthcare license in applicable state required. CPHQ or Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or higher preferred. Additional Skills/Requirements Required: Computer competency with basic office products (Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint); ability to quickly learn proprietary tools. Ability to develop data dashboards for quality and patient care analysis. Capability to perform statistical analysis. Knowledge of medical terminology. Strong customer relation skills. Strong problem-solving skills. Ability to apply critical thinking in a variety of situations. Ability to work independently to understand, assess and evaluate disease processes and treatment plans. Effective communication skills with all levels of staff. Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage, prioritize, and follow through multiple tasks. Appropriate decision-making skills and organizational skills to manage program specific outcomes. Data analysis and presentation skills with the ability to translate data in meaningful ways to demonstrate success and opportunities for improvement. Ability to facilitate teams with all levels of staff and leadership to manage process improvement projects to drive change based upon the data, evidence-based standards of care, and clinical practice guidelines.
