Hiring Range:

$127,587.20 - $160,763.20

UMass Memorial Medical Center is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our Hematology/Oncology division. This position is ideal for an experienced Advanced Practice Provider (APP) with a passion for patient care in both malignant and benign hematology. The successful candidate will play a critical role in managing a diverse range of hematology patients, working independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team. This is a full-time position with 4-day work weeks, consisting of 10-hour shifts.

Key Responsibilities:

Patient Care:

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments, diagnoses, and management of hematologic conditions (malignant and benign).

  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests (e.g., labs, imaging) and adjust treatment plans as needed.

  • Manage treatment protocols, including chemotherapy, blood transfusions, and supportive care.

  • Provide patient and family education on diagnoses, treatment options, and prognosis.

  • Address treatment-related side effects and complications.

Collaborative Care:

  • Work closely with MDs, NPs, PAs, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

  • Coordinate care across settings (e.g., hospital, home care) in collaboration with other healthcare providers.

Documentation & Compliance:

  • Maintain accurate and timely patient records in accordance with clinic policies and regulatory requirements.

  • Ensure all documentation meets compliance standards.

Education & Professional Development:

  • Stay current with advancements in hematology, including both malignant and benign conditions.

  • Participate in ongoing training, certifications, and professional development.

  • Willingness to train on procedures such as bone marrow biopsies.

Qualifications:

  • Graduate of an approved Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program with certification and a Master's degree.

  • Current Massachusetts NP or PA license.

  • Massachusetts Controlled Substances Registration and federal DEA Controlled Substance Registration (if prescribing medications).

  • Hematology/Oncology experience preferred.
