Overview

Qualified individual will work as part of the Operations Engineering team to build and maintain test equipment and tooling used to manufacture Waters' LC products. Individual will work closely with engineers, assisting them in the building debugging, and documenting of this equipment.



Responsibilities

    Duplication, and continuous improvement of test strategies, systems, and equipment to support production.
  • Assemble, document and debug manufacturing fixtures and tooling
  • Assist in the transfer of equipment to production.
  • Account for availability of equipment during transfers to another production sites
  • Support manufacturing, test, and quality issues across a global supply chain
  • Provide 1st level support to resolve equipment or process problems
  • Identify and implement efficiency improvements on test equipment, production tooling, and supporting systems
  • Test and debug PCBA's and electromechanical assemblies to support production requirements
  • Write operating procedures as required
  • Conduct/execute test equipment calibration and/or preventative maintenance
  • Work with external calibration houses to manage equipment turn around
  • Maintain engineering lab environment, parts procurement, etc.
  • Safe handling of chemicals in a lab / manufacturing environment
  • Other responsibilities as assigned


Qualifications

  • Qualified individual should have a minimum of a high school vocational degree in electronics or a high school diploma and a certificate in electronics.
  • The individual should have a minimum of eight years of experience testing, debugging and repairing electromechanical assemblies and complex PCBA's to component level.
  • Individual should have good mechanical skills and be capable of working from mechanical drawings, electrical and fluidic schematics.
  • Individual should have strong PC experience, including PC configuration and maintenance, as well as use of standard MS Office applications.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to manage multiple responsibilities.

Desirable Skills:

  • CAD experience
  • SAP experience
  • Lean Six Sigma experience
  • Programming experience in NI Labview or Python
