Your role
As a Shipping & Receiving Associate, you will play a critical role in the logistics and operational flow of our Systems Assembly team. You will be responsible for the hands-on execution of shipping, receiving, and material handling activities, ensuring accuracy, safety, and efficiency throughout the process. Your daily responsibilities will include:
- Coordinating the receipt and unloading of freight using forklifts, pallet jacks, and other equipment.
- Preparing outbound shipments, including custom and standard crating, boxing, and wrapping of Systems orders.
- Verifying incoming materials against purchase orders and inspecting for damage or discrepancies.
- Documenting all shipping preparations through photography and recordkeeping.
- Staging and transferring materials between production, storage, and shipping areas.
- Operating material handling equipment such as overhead cranes, hoists, and forklifts.
- Performing SAP transactions to maintain accurate inventory records.
- Conducting cycle counts and maintaining inventory using FIFO principles.
- Supporting local pickups and deliveries as needed.
- Upholding 6S standards by maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
- Complying with all safety protocols, including hazardous materials handling and Right to Know training.
To succeed, you will need
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
- At least one (1) year of experience in shipping and receiving within a manufacturing environment.
- Carpentry or woodworking experience, preferably gained through trade school or hands-on work.
- The ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physically demanding tasks in a fast-paced warehouse setting.
- Proficiency in reading mechanical drawings and using calibrated measuring devices.
- Experience operating forklifts, overhead cranes, hoists, and other material handling equipment.
- Competence with hand and power tools, pneumatic tools, and mechanical equipment.
- Familiarity with SAP or similar ERP systems for inventory and transaction management.
- Strong PC skills and attention to detail in documentation and inventory control.
- A commitment to safety protocols, including handling hazardous materials and complying with Hazard Communications (Right to Know) training.
- A proactive mindset toward maintaining a clean and organized workspace in alignment with 6S standards.
