Position Summary

This position selects orders, palletizes, loads and unloads products and/or cases, and is assigned to various stations or lines in the Load-out/Freezer/Cooler areas.

Pay Rate: $18.50/hr
Workdays: Sunday, Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

Driving Company Performance

  • Responsible for pulling products for customer orders.
  • Perform freight handling using appropriate motorized and manual equipment (must be certified in Florida).
  • May use hand-held tracking device.
  • Mark the paperwork properly when adjusting for product shortages.
  • Keep accurate records on load sheets, inventory sheets, scrap sheets, and computerized equipment.
  • Ensure proper code date rotation.
  • Report any mechanical problems such as bad wear strips, plugged or missing lube nozzles, spacer stop malfunctions, palletizer malfunctions or conveyor breakdowns.
  • Report any product/packaging issues.
  • Maintain communication with other departments, management and employees and notify them of any problems and/or concerns that may restrict the efficiency of production.
  • Analyze process data and equipment performance data to improve quality, throughput, and troubleshoot.
  • Adhere to food safety and quality system requirements by committing to meet all pertinent regulatory, customer and SQF requirements.
  • Ensure all paperwork is filled out in a clear, legible, and accurate format, and completed with required information. Ensure all required information is documented in accordance with SOP's.
  • Complete all required paperwork in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Utilize continuous improvement mindset, assist in identifying opportunities to improve processes.
  • Follow Good Manufacturing Practices.
  • Maintain a clean, sanitary and safe work area.
  • Follow all required work safe practices, including lockout-tagout requirements and wearing of all required PPE in designated areas, confined space safety, safe chemical handling, fall restraints, etc.
  • Responsible for food safety, pre-requisite programs and food quality related to designated area.
  • Report any food safety and food quality related issues to management immediately.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Work Experience

Required

  • Minimum of 6 months current experience in a manufacturing environment

Preferred

  • Experience in food and beverage industry

Education

Required

  • High School diploma or Equivalent or 1 to 2 years related experience and/or training
  • Forklift Operator Certification

Technical Knowledge

Required

  • Able to drive a forklift and pass a forklift driving skills test
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills; able to write legibly to complete paperwork
  • Basic Math skills
  • Follow and comply with all safety standards

Physical Demands and Work Environment

This position operates in a fast-paced warehouse environment and is exposed to a wet and cold environment (temperatures are maintained at 35 to 40 degrees Fahrenheit). Employees may be exposed to allergens. The noise level in the work environment is moderate. Employees are required to wear the required PPE provided by the company that is in compliance with OSHA regulations. Employees may experience swings in work-related demands of this position.

While performing the duties of this job, employees are regularly required to stand and/or sit, and drive, throughout the entire shift.

Employees must occasionally be able to lift up to 50 pounds including above shoulder height. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and ability to adjust focus.
