PURPOSE OF POSITION:

Licensed Massage Therapist (LMT) will deliver massage therapy and soft tissue treatments thatenhance pilot readiness, support injury prevention, and contribute to recovery from physicalstrain. The LMT shall operate as an integral member of the Human Performance Team, ensuringseamless coordination with other specialty areas and alignment with CRAFT program objectives.The LMT shall apply best practices in therapeutic care and maintain up-to-date knowledge ofemerging soft tissue treatment modalities while providing tailored care to aircrew personnel. TheContractor shall ensure that all infection control and documentation standards are met, and thatservices are delivered in accordance with DoD policy.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Training and Experience: 2+ years of full-time experience as a Massage Therapist in a medical practice setting or in collegiate (or higher), professional, or tactical athletics; aerospace industry, test pilot/astronaut or similar man-machine high-performance environment. Graduate of an

accredited Massage Therapy certification program. A valid license to practice as a Massage Therapist in the state where service delivery will occur. Current certification in basic cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), including Automated External Defibrillator (AED) Training.

Security Clearance: Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES



  • Deliver individualized soft tissue therapy interventions for student and instructor aircrew and other assigned warfighters, ensuring treatments are professional, goal-oriented, and aligned with warfighter needs.
  • Collaborate with Human Performance Team members, including physical therapists and strength and conditioning specialists, to coordinate and communicate integrated treatment plans.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings hosted by the Site Lead or Active Duty SME to promote alignment of care and service delivery logistics.
  • Provide input on massage therapy best practices, maintain current knowledge of treatment innovations, and incorporate relevant practices into daily operations to enhance treatment effectiveness.
  • Develop and deliver soft tissue care-related instructional content as requested and support Human Performance Team initiatives, including briefings, seminars, and the annual Aircrew Human Performance Summit. Assist with coordination/planning of and presentations during these events as requested.
  • Build rapport and trust with aircrew by maintaining a consistent presence in flying squadrons, flight rooms, and common areas for at least 20% of duty time.
  • Document client sessions and group instruction within 72 hours in the CRAFT system of record, ensuring data accuracy and compliance with DoD reporting standards.
  • Maintain required professional credentials, certifications, and licensure; complete the CRAFT Physical Domain Qualification Course upon onboarding. After completion of the qualification course, assist in planning and presenting at this course as requested.
  • Ensure weekly cleaning and sanitization of all massage therapy equipment and treatment spaces in accordance with infection control standards and medical safety protocols.
  • During PASO visits, prepare all required equipment in advance, conduct teaching activities using standard materials and procedures, receive direct feedback, and implement suggested improvements.
  • Contribute to research efforts as directed by the Program Office and participate in quarterly domain-specific sync calls to share knowledge and stay informed of CRAFT-wide updates.
  • May be tasked to support additional CRAFT sites through temporary travel, TDY support, or virtual assistance to locations with or without an established CRAFT program. May be required to support aircrew TDYs as requested.
  • Complete all required CRAFT compliance training and documentation, including CRAFT Program Familiarization, HPO Inappropriate Relationships and Harassment Training and Acknowledgment, DOD/DISA Information Systems Policy, social media Policy, and PII Training. Maintain records of training completion and credentialing for Government review upon request.
  • Attend all CRAFT Program Office all-calls and leadership syncs to ensure site alignment, situational awareness, and standardization across the enterprise.
  • Perform other incidental and related duties as required and assigned.
