ABOUT THE JOB

The accounts payable manager leads a team to maintain accurate vendor master data, process invoices, make timely vendor payments, issue 1099s, reconcile accounts, calculate metrics, and administer the Procurement Card and Fuel Card programs. This position supports teams across the company, has visibility to all levels of leadership and reports to the Senior Accounting Manager.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • Accounts Payable Process

    • Maintain strong vendor relationships through excellent customer service
    • Ensure invoices are processed timely, accurately, and with proper support and approvals
    • Manage the check run, reviewing and approving payments per company policies
    • Monitor the received not vouchered listing, ensuring appropriate resolution of transactions
    • Manage vendor master data, reviewing new vendors and vendor changes
    • Issue timely and accurate 1099s
    • Reconcile accounts payable, received not vouchered, and freight payable at month end
    • Calculate and report accounts payable metrics


  • Procurement and Fuel Card Process

    • Provide onboarding and training to new card users
    • Activate / cancel cards and adjust credit limits
    • Ensure adherence to company policies and procedures through user audits and follow-up
    • Maintain a strong customer focus through timely response to questions and requested changes


  • Talent Development

    • Lead the accounts payable team in setting and achieving team and personal goals
    • Provide coaching and feedback on a regular basis to aid team members in reaching their goals
    • Cross-train team members to support other functions
    • Conduct periodic reviews of team members


  • Policies and Procedures

    • Ensure all processes adhere to company policies and procedures, Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) controls requirements and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
    • Maintain up to date work instruction for all key processes


  • Audit Support

    • Assist with the year-end and interim external audit
    • Assist with the internal and external SOX audits


  • Process Improvement

    • Model a focus on continuous improvement, ensuring processes and procedures are reviewed regularly for effectiveness and efficiency
    • Utilize key metrics to assess process improvement opportunities, workload, and progress toward goals
    • Foster proactive process reviews and improvements by team members
    • Lead projects as assigned




              ABOUT YOU:



              • 2+ years of supervisory experience in accounts payable or a related accounting field
              • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field preferred
              • Demonstrated ability to develop effective teams that deliver results, foster cross-functional working relationships, analyze complex issues, recommend solutions, and balance priorities
              • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization
              • Knowledge and use of Microsoft applications (Excel, Word, Teams, Outlook)
              • Knowledge and use of ERP systems, JD Edwards experience preferred
              • Knowledge of GAAP and SOX requirements preferred


                PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

                While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. Specific vision abilities required by this job include near and far vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

                TRAVEL

                Minimal travel required

                Expected Compensation: $90,000-98,000/year. (DOE) + 10% Bonus Eligibility
