The Vice President of Business Development will be responsible for leading PRI's business development strategy to drive growth, expand market presence, and strengthen customer relationships. This role will focus on identifying new revenue opportunities, expanding program offerings, enhancing customer engagement, and supporting the strategic vision of PRI. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in business development within relevant industries, with proven leadership and strategic skills to achieve measurable results.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Strategic Planning: Develop and implement a comprehensive business development strategy that aligns with PRI's mission, vision, and growth objectives.
- Market Expansion: Identify and evaluate potential markets, industries, and partnerships to expand PRI's reach, and execute strategies to capture new business opportunities.
- Customer Relationship Management: Strengthen and expand relationships with existing clients and partners, and build new relationships to foster long-term partnerships.
- Revenue Growth: Drive revenue through the development of innovative programs, services, and partnerships, while ensuring they meet customer needs and align with industry standards.
- Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and develop the Business Development team, fostering a high-performance culture focused on accountability, customer satisfaction, and continuous improvement.
- Collaboration: Work cross-functionally with other departments, including Operations, Marketing, and Product Development, to ensure alignment in business objectives and support company initiatives.
- Brand Development: Enhance PRI's brand by representing the organization at industry events, conferences, and meetings, while promoting PRI's commitment to quality and excellence.
- Financial Management: Oversee business development budgets, resource allocation, and financial performance, ensuring projects are cost-effective and align with financial goals.
- Reporting and Analytics: Provide regular reports on business development activities, progress towards goals, and key performance indicators to executive leadership.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, or a related field required. MBA or other advanced degree is preferred.
- Experience:
- 15+ years of experience in business development, sales, or a related role, with at least 5 years in a leadership capacity.
- Proven track record of developing and executing successful business strategies in complex industries (e.g., aerospace, automotive, manufacturing).
- Skills and Competencies:
- Strong strategic thinking and analytical skills with the ability to translate ideas into actionable initiatives.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- Demonstrated success in managing and developing high-performing teams.
- Experience with budget management, financial planning, and achieving revenue goals.
- Familiarity with industry standards and quality frameworks, preferably with experience in accreditation or certification organizations.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- A Master's degree or MBA is strongly preferred.
WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to travel 15% of the time.
