Continuation past the termlengthdiscussed willbebasedonuniversityneed,performance,and/oravailabilityoffunding.POSITION SPECIFICS The laboratory of Huanyu "Larry" Cheng in the Penn State Department of Engineering Science and Mechanics (ESM) is seeking a Postdoctoral Scholar to perform research in wearable devices. The Cheng Lab focuses on the design, manufacturing, and application of standalone stretchable device platforms. This position involves the design, fabrication, and application of skin-like wearable electronics and degradable sensors for biomedicine. Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to, supervising graduate students, student mentoring, co-authoring journal articles, research project development, and proposal preparation. The Postdoctoral Scholar must have a Ph.D. in mechanical, electrical, biomedical, or a related engineering field by the appointment date. The successful candidate will also possess proven independent and collaborative research experience. Prior experience in material synthesis/preparation, facile fabrication processes, or device/system integration for biomedical applications is preferred. A strong background and publication record in the design and fabrication of wearable devices with an emphasis on biomedical applications, is also preferred.
