Job Description

Lucix Corporation, a subsidiary of HEICO's Electronic Technologies Group has steadily evolved to become the world leader in RF Active and Passive Units, Subsystems, and Assemblies, for Commercial, Civil and Defense Satellite Payloads. We are seeking an experienced Test Engineer Manager to join our team. As a Manager, Test Engineer, you will be managing a small team of at least 3 test engineers. You will be developing software and hardware solutions for complex engineering tests across our commercial and defense programs. Must be a self-starter & team player who can take ownership of a project from design to deployment under a rapid pace.



Essential Duties and Responsibilities:



  • Responsible for the design, development, deployment, and documentation for RF ATE Test Systems (primarily Python) used for testing RF and microwave devices for space and defense applications
  • Develop and refine company-level software architecture and reuse strategy.
  • Create and refine software development and management processes: version control, code review, coding standards, and related
  • Interface with product engineers to develop ATE test solutions to validate device performance specifications across various test conditions
  • Create test data sheets for customer reporting
  • Create, maintain, and update data processing applications in Python
  • Use data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI to generate customer data packages
  • Maintenance of existing legacy ATE software (LabVIEW and Keysight / Agilent VEE)
  • Migration and update of legacy ATE software to more modern platforms (Python)

Requirements

Job Requirements:



  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or computer science
  • Expertise with Python language and data processing (Numpy, Pandas, SciPy) and visualization (Matplotlib, Plotly, and similar)
  • Expertise in the full software development lifecycle, use of revision control tools, and best practices in software development
  • 5+ years professional experience in software development
  • Strong knowledge of electronics and RF principles and theories (Spectral analysis, S-Parameters, Noise Figure, Amplitude Linearity, Phase Noise, Spurious, etc.)
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Windows OS, Microsoft Excel
  • Strong written and verbal English communication skills
  • Strong analytical and excellent problem-solving skills


Desired:



  • Proficiency with graphical programming languages such as LabVIEW and Keysight / Agilent VEE
  • Experience developing automated tests with network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes, signal generators, vacuum temperature chambers, RF Switch matrices & similar equipment
  • Ability to understand, review, and create documentation (schematics, test specifications, test procedures, etc.)
  • Proficiency with SQL-based database usage
  • Proficiency with Data Visualization tools (Tableau / Power BI)
  • Experience in RF space hardware (converters, SSPAs, amps, SDRs highly preferred)
  • Experience in space customer test flow, requirements, documentation, and processes including writing test procedures, test plans, test reports, verification compliance matrices
  • Experience implementing ATE for above products
  • Some experience in SW coding (minimum able to maintain and edit for product configuration requirements)
  • Experience managing SW test engineers and ability to identify key attributes for recruiting and retention
  • Expert knowledge of RF test equipment and environmental equipment, including DLLS of equipment, etc. for: PNA, VNA, PNAX, PSA, AWG, and BERT highly desired
  • Experience using a systematic approach to developing test systems
  • Experience managing a small test engineering team (at least 3 reports), preferably in a high mix, low volume RF and microwave manufacturing-oriented company
