Supervisor-General Accounting
MRIGlobal is seeking a highly motivated individual to join our Accounting team as a Supervisor-General Accounting. This position will plan, direct, and oversee the day-to-day operations of the general accounting and accounts payable staff members and ensure accurate and timely recording of financial transactions in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), Government Cost Accounting Standards (CAS), Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR), Defense Federal Acquisition Regulations Supplement (DFARS), and the Uniform Guidance.

Principal Accountabilities



This position interacts with all levels of management and staff. This role is ideal for an accounting professional with strong technical accounting and communication skills, is detail-oriented, analytical, and understands the big-picture in support of organization-wide goals.



Duties may include but are not limited to the following:




  • Leads the weekly, month-end, and year-end close processes and oversees staff to ensure that financial transactions are recorded accurately and timely in the general ledger. Ensures journal entries are accurate and appropriate and that general ledger accounts are analyzed and reconciled monthly. Assist with questions regarding journal entries and general ledger accounts as needed. Reviews and posts timesheets for weekly and month-end reporting and provide support to staff for timesheets and leave time related questions or issues.


  • Prepares and distributes accurate and reliable financial statements, project financial reports, and other internal/external reports as required including monthly work order and capital expenditure reports.


  • Provides support to the annual financial statement audit and Single Audit, and other audits by preparing supporting schedules and responding to auditor questions.


  • Analyzes, plans, and implements improved and streamlined accounting procedures and reports to provide effective financial management and enhanced production while maintaining strong internal controls. Oversee the maintenance of accounting documentation, including narratives and flowcharts, and operational manuals outlining established methods of performing work in accordance with organizational policy. Stays abreast of current accounting literature and new pronouncements for generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and FAR and CAS guidance.


  • Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; plans, assigns, and directs work; appraises performance; addresses issues and resolves problems.


  • Plans, initiates, and ensures performance of staff development programs which result in growth and recognition of each staff member appropriate to their performance.



Minimum Qualifications



  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance plus a minimum of (5) five years of relevant experience including (2) two years of supervisory experience.
  • Ability to work independently and pay close attention to detail.
  • Follows through on commitments and makes sure others do the same; acts with a clear sense of ownership; takes personal responsibility for decisions, actions and failures; establishes clear responsibilities and processes for monitoring work and measuring results; designs feedback loops into work.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in common software tools (Word, Excel, Outlook, and accounting software).
  • Applicants MUST be U.S. Citizen.


Preferred Qualifications



  • CPA and/or MBA
  • Related experience in a government contracting environment
  • Experience with Deltek Costpoint accounting software

Pay Range $82,300 - $95,800


The salary range is intended as a general guideline and is not a guaranteed offer, as compensation depends on various factors such as scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate qualifications, experience, internal equity, and market conditions.
