Job Overview:

Compiles information and records to prepare purchase orders. Verifies specifications of purchase requests. Consults catalogs, Internet, and suppliers to obtain prices and specifications.

Responsibilities:


  • Prepare purchase orders, solicit bid proposals, and review requisitions for goods and services.

  • Responds to customer and supplier inquiries about order status, changes, or cancellations.

  • 3-way matching of PO-Receiver-Invoice.

  • Monitor and follow applicable laws and regulations.

  • Contact suppliers in order to schedule, track, or expedite deliveries and to resolve shortages, missed deliveries, and other problems.

  • Confer with staff, users, and vendors to discuss defective or unacceptable goods or services and determine corrective action.

  • Evaluate and monitor contract performance to ensure compliance with contractual obligations and to determine need for changes.

  • Maintain and review computerized or manual records of items purchased, costs, deliveries, product performance, and inventories.



Requirements:


  • High School Diploma or GED

  • 2+ year experience of Purchasing, Logisitics or Inventory Control



Core Competencies:


  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.

  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.

  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.



Preferences:


  • Fluent use of Microsoft Office products and other general office machines, such as fax, copier, etc.

  • Experience with SAP, MRP/ERP processes.



Travel & Work Arrangements/Requirements:

This position will be based at our site in Ocala, FL no travel.
