The Epic Inpatient ASAP Analyst will serve as a key contributor to the design, build, testing, and ongoing support of Epic's ASAP (Emergency Department) and inpatient workflows. In this role, you will partner closely with clinical and operational stakeholders to translate business needs into system configuration, lead small to medium enhancement and upgrade efforts, provide project implementation engagement, and ensure a stable, high quality end user experience. You'll also support production monitoring and incident resolution, participate in the full testing lifecycle, and help maintain documentation and training materials to enable successful adoption and continuous improvement.

You'll enjoy the flexibility to work remotely * from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges. For all hires in the Minneapolis or Washington, D.C. area, you will be required to work in the office a minimum of four days per week.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide Epic product function, design, build, and testing expertise and experience for assigned Epic module related to Epic
  • Collaborate with end users to design and build the Epic system in a timely and professional manner and make corrective configuration or enhancements
  • Lead small to medium complexity Epic software upgrade initiatives or enhancements to workflows including the design, build, and test phases
  • Participate in design and validation sessions and ensure appropriate documentation, follow-up and issue escalation occurs
  • Provide technical and/or clinical consultation including application configuration Review, analyze, and evaluate system needs to develop recommendations for customers
  • Develop, support and maintain all required system design and build documents and other system documentation
  • Perform daily monitoring of applications in production use
  • Actively participate in all phases of the testing lifecycle and perform unit, system and integrated testing tasks and activities for ASAP/Inpatient workflow
  • Provide support of application incidents reported through the help desk, including 24/7 on call coverage as required
  • Obtain and maintain in-depth knowledge of software functionality; acquire and utilize knowledge of operational workflows to be implemented
  • Perform in-depth analysis of workflows, data collection, report details, and other technical issues associated with Epic software
  • Work with trainers to develop and maintain application specific training curriculum and materials
  • Translate business requirements into functional specifications and manages changes to specifications prioritize, coordinate, and implement updates and requested changes to the system; review and test each new release; troubleshoot problems and questions from end users
  • Adhere to organization standards for system configuration and change control
  • Develop solid relationships with end user communities, customers and business partners
  • Facilitate communication with stakeholders from initial requirements to final implementation
  • Troubleshoot and/or resolve application issues and escalate more complex issues as appropriate

Required Qualifications:

  • Active certification in Epic ASAP with 3+ years of Epic Experience or an Active Epic Certification with 5+ years of direct clinical experience
  • Direct client healthcare knowledge supporting Emergency Department workflows, including ED clinical documentation, triage and tracking, order management, patient flow, bed/room management, and encounter closure
  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 25%

PreferredQualifications:

  • 1+ additional active/current Epic certification such as Inpatient Orders, Clindoc
  • Experience in department build, and implementing community connect locations
  • Proficiency with Excel, Visio, PowerPoint and SharePoint
  • Demonstrated ability to demonstrate and have a history of team management (informal or formal), cross-team communication and leadership skills

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). No matter where or when you begin a career with us, you'll find a far-reaching choice of benefits and incentives. The salary for this role will range from $72,800 to $130,000 annually based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
