Position Summary:
Working under general supervision, receives, inputs, reconciles, and processes weekly and monthly payroll time sheets. Verifies and calculates employee pay based on pay types and hours and enters payment information in hospital and departmental computer systems. Completes various forms and employee requests relating to payroll information. Provides administrative support for unit operations by compiling statistics and reports and maintaining related records. Responds to questions and resolves discrepancies with hospital department managers, employees, banks, and the IRS. This is a hybrid position based in Boston, with a monthly on site requirements.

    This role is hands-on with full-cycle, in-house payroll processing and plays a key role in system enhancements, audits, reporting.


    Key Responsibilities
  • Support development, testing, and implementation of payroll system enhancements and upgrades
  • Perform and oversee full payroll processing to ensure timely, accurate payments
  • Conduct payroll reconciliations, reporting, compliance, and functional audits
  • Review and resolve pay exceptions, discrepancies, and special check requests
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and tax regulations
  • Respond to employee and manager payroll inquiries
  • Manage wage garnishments, child support orders, and related payments
  • Record payroll and tax liabilities and support general ledger entries

  • Preferred / Plus Skills
  • Workday payroll knowledge
  • Kronos timekeeping system experience
  • Hands-on experience with full, in-house payroll processing
  • Strong knowledge of PeopleSoft 9.2 (required)
  • Advanced Excel skills, including VLOOKUPs and Pivot Tables
Education:
  • High School Diploma/GED required
Experience:
  • 2 year of direct experience working with health insurance, referrals, and authorizations.

The posted pay range is Boston Children's reasonable and good-faith expectation for this pay at the time of posting.
