RNFA Registered Nurse First Assistant - Cardiac Surgery - 40 Hours Weekly - Rotating Shift

REGISTERED NURSE FIRST ASSISTANT - CARDIAC SURGERY - 40 HOURS - ROTATING SHIFT

Sign On Bonus: $5,000

Full-Time Benefit Eligible

Schedule: Rotating Shift, 40 Hours Per Week, 8- or 10-hour shifts Monday through Friday start time between 6am and 7am

This position requires call (1-2 nights a week), rotating weekend call (currently 1 weekend a month, but can flex based on need)

GENERAL SUMMARY:

• Provide direct assistance to surgeons before, during and after surgical procedures.

• Position patient to give best exposure for surgical procedure, using stabilizing equipment, when necessary, while maximizing patient comfort and safety.
• Implement physicians' orders to provide visualization of the operative site using appropriate methods, including manipulation of tissue and materials, retraction, sponging, suctioning and irrigation.
• Utilize appropriate techniques to achieve temporary and permanent hemostasis.
• Assist with body plane closure, application of wound dressings and securing of drainage systems.
