The Aviation Department which operates the Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport and the North Perry Airport is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Planner, Senior for the Airport Development - Planning Division. Reporting to the Evaluation and Planning Administrator, the Planner, Senior serves as a Project Manager and Lead Planner for planning projects.
General Description
Performs advanced professional and highly technical planning work managing a major segment of program administration in a county agency.
Works independently, under limited supervision, reporting major activities through periodic meetings.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
Requires a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in urban planning or closely related field.
Requires two (2) years responsible professional planning experience including two (2) years of lead work/supervisory experience depending upon area of assignment.
Special Certifications and Licenses Required
Must possess a valid Florida driver's license during employment and maintain authority to drive on County business.
Preferences
- Master's Degree in Planning or Aviation related field
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience in Airport/ Urban/ City Planning Experience
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience in Project Management Experience
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience in FAA or other Regulatory Experience
- AICP Certification/ Professional Engineer License/Licensed Professional Geologist/GIS Professional Certification/Registered Architect License or other applicable certification or license
- Any Airport related FAA / AAAE / ACI Certificate
Airport Planning experience
- Project Management experience including the following:
- Managing consultant contract scope, budget, schedule and deliverables
- Managing project schedules to track tasks and milestones dates
- Managing project cost to control the project budget
- FAA/Regulatory experience including the following:
- Coordination with local Airport District and Regional Office
- Municipal code experience
Additional Information
All candidates must complete an extensive ten (10) year work history verification andcriminal background check.Per the Code of Federal Regulations, Title 49, Part 1542, all airport employees must undergo a Criminal History Records Check (CHRC) and a Security Threat Assessment (STA) in order to obtain a Security Identification Display Area (SIDA) Badge, as required by the Transportation Security Administration (TSA).
