What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to staff, visitors, and contractors by following site-specific security-related procedures, policies, and post orders at a government correctional location.
• Carry and maintain issued equipment per policy and applicable laws, and respond to incidents and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner while requesting additional assistance as needed.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols of buildings, grounds, perimeter fencing, and parking areas to help to deter unauthorized entry and/or prohibited activity.
• Monitor access control points, verify identification and/or credentials, screen visitors and deliveries as required, and document entries, exits, and other required activity in logs and/or reports.
• Observe and report unusual conditions, policy violations, and/or maintenance hazards, and complete timely written reports and notifications to Allied Universal supervision and site contacts.

Minimum Requirements:

• Be at least 21 years of age.
• A valid driver's license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
• An armed guard card/license is preferred.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
