Position Summary:

Parker Hannifin - Precision Fluidics Division is seeking a Finance & Accounting intern who will report to the Plant Accountant and will play an important role within the Precision Fluidics finance organization. The intern will work closely with other functional leaders and managers - working to support improved growth and profitability using strong analytical and business partnering skills.

Responsibilities

Essential Functions and Learning Opportunities:

  • Participate in the month end close process, preparing journal entries related to inventory, sales, cost of sales and operating adjustments, reconciliations and month end financial statements

  • Provide inventory and transactional analysis, including scrap, production variance, absorption, and inventory valuation variance

  • Provide support to Finance leadership for reports and analysis in support of Division, Group and Corporate reviews, audits, and ad hoc requirements

  • Identify cost saving and lean opportunities with Plants to improve operations

  • Active participant in the development, implementation and support of Lean in Manufacturing and Finance

  • Partner with Plants/Cost Star Points to analyze and report operational and financial performance

  • Focus on an intern project throughout the duration of the internship. The project will be based on needs of the business at the time and involve aspects of Finance/Accounting, along with interactions between other areas of the business

  • Currently enrolled in, or completed degree in related field, such as: Accounting or Finance

  • Candidate shall have completed sophomore year with a GPA of 3.0 or higher

  • Beginner to Intermediate financial modeling and analysis skills required

  • Ability to work effectively in a variety of environments and assignments

  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills

  • Ability to work effectively with others and be a participative team member

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications

  • Must be a US Citizen or have US Permanent Resident Status
