Position Summary

The Finance Project Intern position at Oceaneering's Marine Services Division (MSD) provides an opportunity for students to apply their analytical skills to support project cost analysis and review in support of US government contracts. The Finance Project Intern will gain experience collaborating with other departments, like Program Management and Contracts, to ensure the project's contractual requirements are satisfied with respect to job costing. This role also strives to implement operational excellence initiatives to increase efficiency.


Duties And Responsibilities
  • Review cost estimates for Delivery/Task Orders.
  • Set up projects in the accounting system for cost accumulation, billing, and reporting.
  • Support Project Managers to analyze internal Revenue forecast.
  • Provide project controls support to include weekly actual report, hours summary report, estimate to complete (ETC) development, estimate at complete (EAC) development, and variance at completion (VAC) analysis.
  • Support Program Managers by creating and analyzing Project Status Reports.
  • Prepare, and support, monthly Customer reporting requirements.
  • Lead cash flow collections by reviewing Accounts Receivable outstanding and Unbilled Accounts Receivable for assigned projects or portfolio.

Qualifications

REQUIRED:

  • In pursuit of a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or similar at an accredited college or university.
  • Must have an interest in Government Contracting industry.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Excel, (e.g. experience with pivot tables, macros, lookups, and/or complex formulas).
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of cost accounting principles; inter and intra company accounting; Sarbanes-Oxley Act; and/or U.S. GAAP.
  • Demonstrated understanding of financial modeling concepts (what if analysis).
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen who is not a dual citizen of any other country.
