Job Summary

This role is responsible for directing all project management activities and management of a team of project management professionals. The Projects Lead will be expected to lead and develop the project management team in providing superior client service and project execution. The position entails working with a diverse group of internal and external Stakeholders at all levels of the organization, and the successful candidate will require strong organizational and time management skills and judgment to plan, prioritize, and organize a diverse workload of multiple ongoing projects.

Job Responsibilities

Area of Responsibility

Project Management Development and Execution

  • Direct project management activities according to assigned local, region, or national assignment.

  • Serve as a point of escalation for any issues, risks or concerns

  • Manage adherence to financial plan, objectives, key performance indicators, fee allocation and budget

  • Oversee and manage projects through all project phases including planning, design, bidding, permitting, construction management and close-out

  • Oversee capital improvement programs with design and construction processes at multiple sites through local resources

  • Conduct regular weekly update meetings with client

  • Develop and maintain strong positive client relationships and manage conflict resolution

  • Assemble, on board and manage required teams, including regional PDS variable project management teams.

  • Provide appropriate level of on-site supervision to ensure project performance criteria are being met.

  • Perform additional duties as assigned

Team Development

  • Manage and support a team of project managers

  • Provide supervision, leadership, mentoring and coaching to team members

  • Provide training to direct reports on an ongoing basis

Reporting

Ensure complete and accurate reporting including financial reporting and progress reporting on a weekly and monthly basis and as additionally required

Business Development

Drive strategic program improvement initiatives that align to client goals and objective

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

MINIMUM REQUIRED

PREFERRED

Education/training

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or Project Management preferred.

  • Years of relevant experience

  • Minimum of 10 years of progressively responsible experience in managing design and construction of multiple projects across a broad geography in a remote and virtual environment

  • 10+ years of progressively responsible experience in managing design and construction of multiple projects across a broad geography in a remote and virtual environment

  • Skills and knowledge

  • Experience leading and running numerous projects simultaneously

  • A strong working knowledge of accounting and financial reporting, budgeting, scheduling and process as they relate to corporate real estate

  • Ability to lead individuals across a national team to deliver superior results in client service

Other abilities

  • Proactive and takes initiative

  • Ability to multi-task and work both in a team and independently

  • Able to maintain confidentiality, utilize judgment, and work with minimal supervision

  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written) with the ability to successfully communicate with architects, contractors, client's representatives, and team members

  • Able to adapt and prioritize, meeting deadlines, in a fast-paced environment

  • Operates with a sense of urgency, quickly responding to Stakeholders

  • Demonstrated responsiveness, and accountability

  • Focus on sustainability programs is an asset

Certifications/Licenses

PMP Certification, LEED Accreditation, or other specialty accreditation is an asset

Estimated compensation for this position:

139,480.00 - 209,220.00 USD per year

This range is an estimate and actual compensation may differ. Final compensation packages are determined by various considerations including but not limited to candidate qualifications, location, market conditions, and internal considerations.
