Responsibilities: Duties to be performed under the direct supervision of a Polysomnography Technologist II or Licensed Physician.
- Performs polysomnography acquisitions, per departmental protocols while monitoring signal quality under direct supervision of Polysomnography Technologist RRT-SDS or RPSGT.
- Performs scoring of sleep testing under the direct supervision of Polysomnography Technologist RRT-SDS or RPSGT and generates study reports.
- Document routine observations per department policy to facilitate scoring and interpretation of polysomnographic results.
- Perform routine positive airway pressure mask fitting.
- Maintains, cleans, calibrates, and troubleshoots Sleep Center equipment.
- Educates patients regarding sleep testing and orients them to the Sleep Center.
- Communicate with Sleep Center physicians regarding their patients and/or testing procedures.
- Applies electrodes per physician-ordered montage and departmental procedure.
- Attends meetings and in-services as required.
- Functions as an effective team member.
- Performs other functions as required.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED
- Enrollment in an accredited Clinical Polysomnography program within 90 days of employment.
- NM Medical Board Polysomnographic Technician license required within 90 days of hire.
- Must obtain Registered Polysomnographic Tech (RPSGT) credential within 3 years of employment.
- MA, EEG tech, EMT, nursing aid experience preferred.
- BLS required.
