We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) for a full-time night shift position. The working hours are from 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM, with a schedule that includes every other weekend and holiday. This role requires a minimum of 37.5 hours per week.
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED
- Experience: Minimum of 1-year experience as a licensed CNA in a long-term care setting
- Certifications: NYS Nursing Assistant Certification, BLS (must be through AHA or RQI)
Job Functions
- Assist residents with daily living needs such as hygiene, grooming, dressing, toileting, and skin care according to the care plan.
- Ensure resident safety and maintain a clean environment by responding to call lights, using safety equipment, and preventing falls.
- Support residents with meals by delivering trays, assisting with feeding, using adaptive equipment, and honoring food preferences.
- Assist with mobility and rehabilitation needs, including range of motion exercises, walking, transfers, proper positioning, and the use of aids.
- Take and record vital signs, including temperature, pulse, respiration, and blood pressure.
- Measure and record weight, intake, and output.
- Assist with the admission, transfer, and discharge of residents.
- Provide social and emotional support to residents through interaction and companionship.
- Maintain confidentiality and uphold residents' rights at all times.
- Promptly report any resident concerns, changes, or refusals to the nurse.
- Complete all required documentation in a timely manner according to protocols.
Other Information
Occupational exposure to bloodborne pathogens is reasonably anticipated. Required tasks may lead to contact with blood, body fluids, or tissues.
