Health Information Technician

Minimum Qualifications:
Education: High school diploma or equivalent; medical terminology.
Experience: 2 years in HIM/medical records; 1 year experience with Release of Information, Master Patient Index, and/or Analysis.

Preferred Qualifications:
Education: Associate degree or Bachelor degree in Health Information or related field.
Experience: 4 years' prior HIM experience in an acute care medical record department. 2 years' experience in Release of Information, Master Patient Index, or Analysis role in an acute care setting.
Certification: RHIT, RHIA, and/or CHDA.

* Self-starting, highly motivated, and organized individual capable of making quick, informed decisions.
* Adaptable to changing needs and dynamics, with the ability to perform repetitive tasks and work on a computer for extended periods.
* Possesses intermediate skills in analysis, problem-solving, data analysis, and research, with strong attention to detail and the ability to conduct thorough reviews ensuring compliance with health information management standards.
* Possesses strong technical skills, including advanced computer proficiency and expertise in review functions, with solid knowledge of Microsoft Office, EHR systems, health records, coding/billing, and document scanning.
